The committee has been working for over a year and it is unclear when they are wrapping up. It is also working on behalf of the American people. Personally, I believe this information belongs to the public and some of it needed to be urgently presented. As a reporter, I always err on the side of transparency. Sunlight is a hell of a disinfectant.

My guess is that he wanted to upstage the Committee for financial reasons. It's the American way.
